This question mainly applies to individuals travelling alone, or to couples who both prefer an aisle seat and are comfortable being separated by that aisle. If one traveler prefers an aisle seat and the other a window seat, would you accept the middle seat in order to sit together?

Also, keep in mind that on wide-bodied planes, there may be 2-3 seats on the sides and 3-5 seats in the middle of the plane. Therefore, parents may wish to seat their children between them in the middle section.

Some people prefer to sit forward of the wing, while others prefer to sit behind it. Keep in mind that some airlines board back to front, some aircraft allow disembarking at the front and rear of the plane, and bathrooms are typically in the back of the economy section. Rows with more legroom do not always allow you to store your personal item under the seat in front of you, and several rows on the plane may not have reclining seats.
